At URE, our mission is to promote alternative perspectives in economics, while also emphasising the analysis of social realities within economic contexts. We strive to improve the practical applicability of economics, exploring the relevance of economic theories in various settings. Our focus includes advocating for a spotlight on curriculum reform within the university level.
Founded in 2011, the primary aim of RE was to connect people interested in real-world economic issues and call for a more pluralist economics education. By 2014, economics students from local groups at 65 universities across 30 countries joined to publish an open letter in newspapers across the world. The network called itself the International Student Initiative for Pluralism in Economics (ISIPE). Click here to read more about RE!
